Phet (our translator) and Ron coded receipts from the construction work one day at JoMa's Restaurant. Hong had tried to get us a phone where Ron could use the translator for us to travel on to Luang Prabang but it did not work well. Phet decided she could take another day off with it being between the holidays and go with us. We got her reservations on the same plane with us and a room at the same guest house so we were thrilled to get to spend a little more time getting to know her. Our guesthouse was quaint and old but adequate. The young man at the desk was very helpful and spoke good English.
The street had one guest house after another all along both sides. A coffee shop was right across the street. It was just one block from JoMa's Restaurant so we ate most of our meals there too.
We visited the three girls that live with Chansouk and his wife and the three girls who live with Khumsing and his wife.
The girls are all from the villages up the Mekong River that we went to visit on two days. Tik, the girl in the aqua tee-shirt in the first picture went with us one day to her village. She is pictured below with Phet. She is very sweet Her mother works in Vientiane, Laos and her brother stays in the village with her uncle. She was happy to see her uncle and brother on this visit with us. .
